The Nation's #1 Recruit, Terrelle Pryor has a Big Decision to Make as Signing Day Nears
February 6, 2008, could be the shot heard round the world all over again. The nation's number one high school football recruit must chose where to continue his career. Will it be Ohio State, Michigan, LSU, or Oregon? That's what everyone is asking themselves right now.
I have never seen an athlete that has captured the entire state of Ohio and Michigan like Pryor has done. What will he do, who will he chose? That's all you hear, and see on the web. I honestly think he is starting to toy with these schools by saying who is in the lead and wearing their clothing. He wore a Michigan sweatshirt before the High School All-American game, then placed a Buckeye Leaf on his helmet. So, you tell me, is he getting too cocky, or over his head, is his true colors starting to unfold before all of us that believe he will be the savior?
He says he would also like to play basketball. He is a tremendous talent and a top 100 basketball player (scouts inc), but is he really going to play hoops and take the chance of losing millions of dollars by getting hurt? What do you think? How many coaches will be HONESTLY willing to take that chance? I am sure they are all going to tell him that he can play both right away, but in the end, he will be playing football and only football.
I believe there have been plenty of number one quarterbacks coming out of high school and end up falling flat on their face. Jimmy Clausen anyone........ I don't think Pryor will fall, but someone will need to keep a close eye on him. Sometimes these players seem to get way ahead of themselves. Maurice Clarette????
In the end, I think Terrelle Pryor will be a tremendous asset to any football program, but it is going to take a great coach to truly bring out the best in a pre-madonna. If he goes to my beloved Buckeyes then great. If he doesn't, then I will not lose any sleep over it at least not until late November when a certain team comes to visit the Horseshoe.

North Carolina upset by Maryland, Roy Jones Jr. v's Trinidad, Ohio State loses to Tennesee
Speaking of NIT, how about them Buckeyes and their problem with the SEC teams no matter what the sport is this year. The football team starts off great and then just as you get your hopes up, boooooooooooom!!!!!!! It's put your head down and run back to Ohio. Basketball Bucks almost did the same thing today versus Tennessee. Don't get me wrong, they are a very talented team and very deserving of there ranking, but the young Buckeyes had them on the ropes. The real disappointing aspect to me as a true Buckeye fan is that the state's all time leading scorer (John Diebler) and best three point shooter, couldn't come close to buying a bucket in the final seconds and they left him wide open. What does that tell you, Diebler? I'll tell you what. Welcome to the big ten where you are too slow and can't play defense. Not only do you not start now, but your time is going to dwindle down quickly. Buckeye fans will remember this comparison and name.......... Brandon Fuss-Cheatem anyone?????
Roy Jones Jr. versus Felix Trinidad. All I have to say is that if Jones Jr is still sponsored by Jordan, then he wins in unanimous decision.

Athlete's in Trouble: Randy Moss, Joakim Noah, OJ Simpson
For once, I believe Randy Moss. I don't think that he did anything wrong and he will be cleared of any petty law-suits. I think he is a stand up guy and would admitt to it. We as the public have a perceived notion that he is a thug from West Virginia and that is it.....guilty, guilty as charged. Why don't we wait and let the dust settle before we charge him in the public eye. He is innocent and a good person, who does good deeds, but the media doesn't want to talk about that.
Noah, just a spoiled rich boy! Right??? Let me see, he was like that all of his life. Very outspoken. It must have done something because it has got him 2 Nat'l titles, a fat NBA contract. Is he the reason the Bulls suck? Hell no!! I believe Paxson knew his background before he drafted him and still took him, so why the Bulls suck? You know the answer. Kobe anyone??????
OJ,OJ,OJ, come on man........... You are the most wanted man in the world by the public and you do something this ignorant. I def. don't feel sorry for you. I did at one time, but go and play golf the rest of your life, instead, you hold up petty thiefs for a 50.00 autograph football.. I'm afraid you wont get a fair trial because there is no jury in the world that will say the glove doesn't fit now!!!!!!!
what do you think?????????

Todd Bozeman is Back in the Game
Former Cal coach getting a second chance to impress
By DAN RALEY
P-I REPORTER
Todd Bozeman will send his Morgan State basketball team against the favored Washington Huskies on Tuesday night in Edmundson Pavilion, telling his players anything can happen.
UW BASKETBALL DOUBLEHEADER
WHEN/WHERE: Tuesday, Edmundson Pavilion
WOMEN: Washington (4-5) vs. Kansas State (11-0), 5 p.m.
MEN: Washington (8-3) vs. Morgan St. (5-7), 7:30 p.m.
TV/RADIO: Both games on FSN; women's game on KKNW-AM/1150; men's game on KJR-AM/950
And why shouldn't they believe him?
Bozeman was once banished from the college game, fired as the California coach a dozen years ago for NCAA violations deemed as serious as they can get, and he's working again.
The Huskies will be the first Pac-10 team he has faced since getting pushed into coaching exile, which ended when Baltimore-based Morgan State brought him back for the 2006-07 season.
Welcoming Bozeman to his old league will be Huskies coach Lorenzo Romar, who considers Bozeman a good friend, actually benefitted from Bozeman's previous misdeeds, and believes a second chance is in order.
"When we make mistakes, and I don't care what mistake it is, do we have to vilify that person for the rest of his life?" Romar asked. "You learn from your mistakes. I know Todd has learned from his mistakes. I root for him. I want him to do well."
Bozeman, 45, was one of college basketball's more sensational coaching stories of the 1990s, for reasons favorable and unfavorable. He was installed as Cal's interim coach midway through the 1992-93 season after the Bears fired Lou Campanelli. Bozeman led the Golden Bears on an 11-2 run and into the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament, upsetting two-time defending champ Duke along the way.
He was considered one of the NCAA's best young coaches after leading Cal to postseason play in three of four seasons. He became an undesirable after it was learned he paid $30,000 over two seasons to the parents of Cal player Jelani Gardner, basically providing the Los Angeles-area residents with travel expenses to games in the Bay Area and elsewhere. The money came from Bozeman's personal funds and was delivered through intermediaries.
Out of spite, Gardner's parents reported Bozeman to the NCAA once their son's playing time diminished.
"It was temporary insanity on my part, that's the only thing I can say," Bozeman told the Washington Post. "Initially, I wasn't going to do it, then I did it. The thing that kills me is we would have gotten the kid anyway. I would have had him anyway. I just got caught up in competing. I got crazy."
Cal was left with a three-year NCAA probation, a one-year postseason ban and the loss of two scholarships.
"This is one of the most serious infractions we've seen in a long time," David Swank, an Oklahoma law professor who chaired a six-person panel that dealt with the case, said at the time.
Bozeman, who was found guilty of lying to NCAA investigators, was handed an eight-year coaching ban, with most people in basketball figuring it was nothing short of permanent. The Washington, D.C., native turned to selling pharmaceuticals, coaching AAU teams, running camps and clinics, and scouting for NBA teams.
It was such a waste because Bozeman had shown a knack for coaching and recruiting in a manner as creative as anyone in the business. To sign center Shareef Abdur-Rahim for Cal, he studied Islam for a month, greeted the player's mother with a cultural bow and suggested practices could be scheduled around religious holidays.
"He's one of the best recruiters I've ever seen, and I'm talking with no rules broken," Romar said. "He's really smart. Kids really bond with him."
Since returning to the sideline, Bozeman has been greeted by opposing crowds chanting "Thir-ty thou-sand!" Spectators have called out to him and asked for loans. UW fans may weigh in on his past, as well.
"I made a bad mistake, but I'm not a bad person," Bozeman told the Washington Post. "I don't apologize anymore. I paid my price."
Gardner, the player at the center of Bozeman's Cal coaching ouster, transferred to Pepperdine and played two seasons for Romar. He later had a kidney transplant, went overseas as a pro player, married a French woman and had children. He still keeps in contact with Romar.
As for Bozeman, he brings a 5-7 team to Seattle. Ironically, his best player is a former Cal player, senior forward Marquise Kately. After a 13-18 first season, Bozeman demonstrated his coaching magic once more by leading Morgan State to a 22-11 record and an NIT bid last season -- the Bears' best record in 30 years and first Division I postseason appearance in school history.
"I think he's one of the best in the business at what he does," Romar said.

The Early Race for NBA MVP is ON!
Here are these guy's early picks for MVP. I have to go with LeBron. The Cavs are on the right track and the talk of him leaving are gone because he would be stupid to start over somewhere else. I think D-Wade is right there in the hunt, but his team isn't in the title hunt. The same goes for Dwight Howard and the Magic. It should be interesting as they get to the all-star break, but I see LeBron James at the top of everyone's list.
1. We're about one-third of the way through the regular season. How would you assess the MVP race?
Ian Thomsen: LeBron James is the front-runner. He has never played better or been more valuable. His Cavaliers have the second-best record in the league and look for the first time like true championship contenders. Kobe Bryant, Dwyane Wade, Chris Paul and Kevin Garnett are going to be in consideration, but this is shaping up to be LeBron's year.
Jack McCallum: There isn't much assessing to be done -- it's LeBron. Team is improved. He's improved. Kobe isn't having an MVP year. The Celtics' Big Three has too much balance. The main comp comes from Wade, and the Heat aren't good enough to make him a viable candidate.
Chris Mannix: Very tough race to call. LeBron, Kobe, Wade, and Paul have been filling stat sheets, and you can take your pick between Garnett and Paul Pierce in Boston. But let me ask this: Who among us expected Denver to be only 4½ games out of first place in the Western Conference two days before Christmas? Anyone? I know I didn't. The lion's share of the credit goes to Chauncey Billups, who has reenergized the franchise with his toughness and leadership. Billups will rarely put up gaudy numbers, but the way he has single-handedly turned Denver into a cohesive unit has been nothing short of remarkable.
Steve Aschburner: Got to go with LeBron here. He organizes and orchestrates Cleveland's offense. He is asserting himself defensively like never before. Pluck him off that team and Cleveland would plummet more in the standings than the Lakers without Bryant, the Magic without Dwight Howard or the Hornets without Paul. James is ready for his MVP close-up.
