DEPTH CHART: J.T. BARRETT BACK LISTED AS STARTING QUARTERBACK AHEAD OF OHIO STATE'S GAME AT ILLINOIS
J.T. Barrett received a fine and had his driver's license suspended by a Columbus judge Tuesday morning for an OVI citation, but finds his name back atop the Ohio State depth chart at quarterback for Saturday's game at Illinois.
Barrett sat out Ohio State's 28-14 against Minnesota last Saturday, suspended by Urban Meyer, but is back in the saddle "unless he does not have a good week of practice," the coach said Monday.
No. 3 and 9-0 Ohio State is set for a noon kickoff in Champaign, Illinois, against the Fighting Illini Saturday. The team's latest depth chart was released Tuesday afternoon.
Notes:
- Barrett replaces Cardale Jones at quarterback, who started and accounted for 252 total yards and two touchdowns against the Golden Gophers. Braxton Miller was listed as the backup quarterback last week, but that responsibility is now back to Jones.
- Miller, who left Saturday's game midway through the fourth quarter after having his head slammed to the turf by a defender following a reception, remains listed as Ohio State's starting H-back.
- Despite missing a 35-yard field goal attempt and sending a kickoff out of bounds against Minnesota, graduate senior Jack Willoughby is still listed as Ohio State's starting kicker. Meyer mentioned Tuesday on the Big Ten teleconference that he is "potentially going to making a change at field goal" and Sean Nuernberger will get a chance to earn back the starting spot. The decision is set to be made Wednesday.
- Curtis Samuel is listed as backup H-back this week, taking the place of Dontre Wilson, who isn't listed anywhere on the two-deep.
- After returning from a six-game hiatus last Saturday against Minnesota, sophomore Damon Webb is now Eli Apple's backup at corner in place of freshman Denzel Ward.
- Tommy Schutt re-enters the lineup at defensive tackle after missing the Rutgers and Minnesota games with wrist surgery. He's listed as a co-starter with Joel Hale and Michael Hill at the position.

Quick Thoughts On Ohio State's Depth Chart for Illinois
COLUMBUS — The Ohio State depth chart for Saturday's game at Illinois has been released and there are several notable changes, but none bigger than the starter at quarterback.
J.T. Barrett has been reinserted as the Buckeyes' No. 1 quarterback following his one-game suspension for his OVI citation two weeks ago. Urban Meyer said on Monday that if Barrett has a good week of practice he would start, so there is obviously very little doubt in Meyer's mind that that is going to happen over the next few days.
Barrett's reinsertion into the starting lineup will allow the Buckeyes to be more effective in the running game should the ability to throw the ball in the damning winds of Memorial Stadium be hampered.
Absent from the depth chart on offense, however, is junior receiver Dontre Wilson, who continues to deal with a nagging foot injury. Receivers coach Zach Smith says that they want Wilson fully healed before they put him back out onto the field. Meyer has also said that that can still happen this season.
Instead of Wilson, it is Curtis Samuel now listed as Braxton Miller's backup at H-back. Miller is "good to go" according to Meyer. Samuel is also listed as a starter at wide receiver. Meyer said on Tuesday's teleconference that tight end Marcus Baugh has even gotten some snaps at the position, much like Jake Stoneburner did in 2012.
Redshirt freshman receiver Parris Campbell is listed in the two-deep, as he was last week, even though he didn't play. He has only played in four games this season, and whether he plays this week or not is likely only a slightly-better possibility than it was a week ago.
Defensively, nose tackle Tommy Schutt has returned to the depth chart, as he, Joel Hale and Michael Hill are all listed as ORs. This means that Schutt may not yet be ready to go following wrist surgery. This is right about the time they were hoping to get him back, and if he can get a few snaps this week they will definitely take it.
Hale and Hill both graded out as champions last week against Minnesota, so there is certainly some trust in both of them if Schutt isn't ready to go. Still, the coaches would love for Schutt's first action back to not be against Michigan State next week.
Cornerback Damon Webb also appears back on the depth chart for the first time in a while, replacing freshman Denzel Ward behind Eli Apple. Expect Webb to also continue to get time at nickel for the Buckeyes as well.
Louisville walk-on transfer Jarrod Barnes is still listed behind Vonn Bell at free safety, with Malik Hooker still listed behind Tyvis Powell. Bell mentioned this week that freshman cornerback Eric Glover-Williams is backing him up at free safety as well.
The only change listed on special teams is the removal of Dontre Wilson from any of the return teams, though Meyer did mention during the teleconference that Sean Nuernberger is going to have a shot to win the job back this week in practice because they are not getting enough from Jack Willoughby right now.
Nuernberger still has a redshirt available, but at this point the Buckeyes may have no choice but to burn it in order to solidify a kicking game that may be considered the team's largest weakness.
